Ttitle:
Benchmarking DNA Transport ModelsAgainstExperimental Measurements
Organization/Department
UW-EWU
Description of Project:
Our group has developed several transport models over the years to understand charge transport mechanisms in DNA. Conceptually, this is similar to modeling current through a semiconductor, but instead of a semiclassical approach, we use quantum transport models.
While these models have been successful in qualitatively capturing experimental trends, they underestimate the measured conductance by one to three orders of magnitude.
In this project, we will perform an extensive parametric analysis to determine under what conditions the model predictions can better match experimental observations. Summarize and report results as powerpoint files and technical reports.
