Beyond the prompt: Learning Upgraded
Organization
UW
Description:
This summer, we are inviting a select cohort of ambitious high school students to collaborate with university members on a project that sits at the intersection of artificial intelligence and higher education. As part of this IEEE Nanotechnology Council
Summer Internship, students will explore, design, and prototype innovative AI-driven approaches that meaningfully enhance how university students learn and how instructors teach.
Over the course of the program, participants will be asked to learn, use, and evaluate rapidly evolving landscape of AI tools shaping modern education — from intelligent tutoring systems and automated feedback platforms to AI-assisted content creation and personalized learning pathways. Working in collaborative teams, students will identify real challenges faced by university learners and instructors, apply design thinking methodologies to develop creative solutions, and present their findings and prototypes to an audience of academics.
This is not a passive learning experience.
Participants will be treated as junior innovators and will have to contribyte ideas, conduct research, test solutions, and iterate based on feedback. A genuine desire to think differently about the future of education is required.
