Read this before applying for any mentorship
SPARK Summer Mentorship Program is a unique opportunity for you to learn directly from experienced professionals and gain valuable insights into your field of interest. To ensure a successful and rewarding experience, please carefully review the following expectations:
Mentorship Program Expectations
This is a mentorship, which is a collaborative learning relationship where you take the initiative in driving your learning.
You will be expected to be proactive in your communication with your mentor, scheduling meetings, and asking thoughtful questions.
Mentors are guides and advisors, not supervisors. You will be responsible for setting goals, developing your own projects (with mentor guidance), and taking ownership of your learning journey.
Mentorship requires a significant time commitment and consistent engagement throughout the summer.
If you have other significant commitments during the summer, such as internships, research positions, or extensive travel, we strongly advise against applying.
Mentors dedicate their valuable time to this program, and we expect mentees to prioritize their mentorship responsibilities.
We want students who are fully available to take part in this program.
Be prepared to actively participate in all mentorship sessions and activities.
Come prepared with questions, ideas, and a willingness to learn.
Take initiative in seeking out opportunities to learn and grow.
Show enthusiasm, curiosity, and a genuine interest in your mentor’s expertise.
Be responsible for sending weekly updates to your mentor, and to the program organizers.
Please do not apply if you have existing commitments that will conflict with the mentorship program, including internships, research projects, or other significant time obligations.
We are seeking students who can fully dedicate their time and attention to this mentorship experience.
