Title
AI driven Data Analytics & App development for the Cyber-Power Grid
Organization
WVU
Description:
Student 1: Interfacing tools, simulators and AI-driven data analytics for analyzing power grid operation
Student 2: Cyberattack and impact on the power grid with ML based tools
Develop python coding for data processing and developing visualization tools.
- Work with creating data pipelining for Machine learning tools, Explainable AI tools, such as using MySQL, Kafka and developing python API for interacting time-series data.
- Writing code using python to develop GUI for physics-aware machine learning-based power grid data processing tools. In this case, students need to use socket programming and tkinter module to exchange data from) some developed tools and show them in GUI format which can be manageable as GUI. Example (https://docs.python.org/3/library/tkinter.html
- Writing code to for web interface-based visualization tool development to visualize the real-time operational status of a power system against cyberattacks. Here, all the monitoring data will be stored in a database, and the visualization tool will fetch the data in a timely manner to create and update different plots and topology figures of the system. Here, the student will perform two tasks. Example library, https://pypi.org/project/databases/
- Select an appropriate database and set up the database to the requirement of the operational tool and the visualization tool.
- Develop the visualization tool incorporating all the possible monitoring assets’ data
These projects will allow access to GOLab and SG-REAL lab and graduate students/ engineering scientists to support these tasks.
